Give-A-Meal-Scheduler for Hope

Story

*Can you help?* As some of you may be aware, Hope went into hospital on Sunday the 9th of November after collapsing and suffering a seizure after fighting a migraine for a few days. Although she came home two days later and seemed to be on the mend, she unfortunately became worse on Friday the 14th and has been on the neurology ward since then with the continuous migraine and other alarming symptoms. Hope has been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) a disorder that has a wide range of neurological symptoms including non-epileptic seizures, tremors, limb weakness and paralysis, speech difficulties, cognitive difficulties, pain, dizziness and many other symptoms. There is no cure, only management of symptoms. Hope has been impacted significantly by seizures as well as tremors, leg weakness, dizziness, blacking out, loss of speech and memory issues after an episode. She will hopefully be discharged in the next few days and will begin her road to recovery and learning how to live with this new disorder and various symptoms. We are asking if any of Hope’s friends would be able to contribute to a meal train (where meals are made and scheduled to be dropped off) upon her return to ease the pressure off Colin, her partner, as he looks after her. Or to come and visit to keep her company as Colin will need to be working from Hope’s home during the day. The kids are currently with their dad but will be returning soon after her discharge, if anyone can help with pick up or drop offs or even play dates, that would also be so appreciated. We are unsure of what comes next or how long these symptoms may last for, care management has been applied for but that may take a while to be approved and organised. Hope and ourselves would greatly appreciate any help and time you have to spare for the weeks ahead. Please reach out to Colin or Hope if you’re interested in helping, we will keep you posted on potential dates of discharge as we are informed. Thanks everyone xx
