A Little Help for the Nielson Family

Missoula, MT

W
Story

So, day 2 of a wonderful week-long family reunion with the Nielsons consisted of hanging out with my nephew for his birthday. He got a super cool new street scooter, and of course, being me, I wanted to try it out and go down a little hill. Well… that didn’t end so well. 😂 I ended up with all kinds of broken bones. One shoulder blade is broken, the other is fractured, my C7 vertebrae in my neck is shattered, and I have multiple fractures around my T3 vertebrae. Luckily, I don’t need surgery, but I’ll be in a brace for 3 months with practically no movement so I don’t risk those broken vertebrae damaging my spinal cord. I’m 34 years old and have officially gone from independent mom to needing a constant babysitter. No driving, no playing with the kids, no adventures, and definitely no doing all the things I normally do. Now my husband is fully responsible for everything in our crazy life—including bills, meals, kids, and basically keeping this whole circus running. 😂 I’m sucking up my pride and asking for a little help. If you’re able, meals would be an incredible help to our family right now. I’m also adding my Venmo for anyone who would rather contribute that way, but please don’t feel obligated. Even sharing this page or checking in means so much to us. I’ll still be working when I can and doing whatever I’m able to, but realistically, there’s not going to be much I can do for a while. I’m incredibly lucky to have such an amazing support system, and I don’t want to put everything on them. Thank you to everyone who has checked on me, offered help, sent messages, or just made me laugh through all of this. We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️
