This page was started to help Matt with his recent health issues. For those that know Matt, he would give you the shirt off his back and ask nothing in return. Matt has struggled with Type 2 Diabetes most of his adult life. Last year he was diagnosed with vocal chord cancer. In April he finished 28 daily high-dose radiation treatments and the prognosis looks very good but the body needs 6 months to heal from the radiation therapy. He has to go to Grand rapids cancer hospital every 2 months for 2 to 5 years for a cancer check. Then June 5th his foot started to bother him and he was admitted to the ER and spent 11 days in the hospital including 3 surgeries in 7 days including cutting off 1/2 of his right foot due to sugar diabetes. Another surgery opened the arteries in his leg to get more blood flow. Matt is now home and recovering from not 1, but 2 major health issues. Matt is currently retired and lives by himself in a split-level home during the week. This page was started to get Matt a proper consistent meal train that is both conducive to his health conditions and regular so he can rest and heal. Matt was the star pitcher in his boyhood hometown so he understands that life threw him a curve ball ... let's help Matt get his batting average back up!
