From JD's FB Post: I never thought I would be having to make a post like this, but I wanted to update everyone on what’s going on with Micki. We left for a cruise last Sunday, and on Monday she started getting really sick. On Wednesday, we got off the ship in Honduras and took her to a privately run ER so she could get fluids and some medical attention. We made the decision to fly back home Thursday, and we went straight to the ER at Saints that night. Unfortunately, the CT scans showed about four tumors throughout her brain, with hemorrhaging and swelling. She had a scan almost to the exact day a month before this, and it was completely clear of any new tumors. Everything has happened so fast. After further scans, including an MRI, the doctors confirmed there are innumerable tumors spread throughout her brain. The neurosurgeon has said there is nothing more he can do surgically, and her oncologist has given us a very difficult prognosis of around 30 days. Right now, Micki is sleeping a lot, but when she is awake, she is still able to answer questions, and we have all been able to spend time with her. She is still receiving medication to help with the swelling in her brain. Micki is home now, surrounded by her family and receiving hospice care.
We have arranged for home-cooked meals (nut allergy) to be provided each Wednesday. ❤️ On the other days, if you would like to help, gift cards to local Shawnee restaurants/fast food would be greatly appreciated and would give the family the flexibility to enjoy a meal whenever needed. Please contact Amber Rosser (405-664-8288), and she will coordinate picking up the gift card, or you can deliver the gift card to JD & Micki's mailbox directly. Thank you so much for your love, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
