Devin Box is the kind of man who simply shows up. He shows up for his family, for his fire department, and for this community. As an active member of the Harper Volunteer Fire Department, Devin has answered countless calls without hesitation. He does it quietly and without needing recognition, because serving others is just who he is. At home, Devin is a devoted husband and father to four kids who keep life busy and full. He works two jobs to provide for his family and carries the responsibility of being their main financial provider. Even with that load, he still finds time to respond to calls and serve alongside his HVFD family. If you know Devin, you know his heart. He is steady, kind, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand when someone else is in need. At the end of this month, Devin will undergo back surgery that will put him out of work for at least eight weeks with over six months until fully recovered. While the surgery is necessary and will ultimately help him long term, it also means time away from both jobs and a temporary loss of income for his family. Now it is our turn to show up for him. This page has been created to support Devin and his family during surgery and recovery. Whether it is providing meals, helping financially, offering prayers, or sending words of encouragement, every act of kindness makes a difference. Our hope is to ease some of the burden so Devin can focus on healing and being present with his family. When one of our own needs help, we answer the call. Thank you for standing with Devin and his family during this time.
The Box family is incredibly grateful for any support provided during this time. They truly are not picky and appreciate the love behind whatever is made. Devin is a classic meat and potatoes kind of guy, and simple, hearty meals are always a hit in their house. The only things to avoid are mushrooms and mayonnaise. Thank you for helping keep things easy for them while Devin focuses on recovery.
