Story

Supporting Ceaira ❤️ Many of our Cornerstone family know and love Ceaira, Tamario, and Tamaira. After months of appointments, testing, and uncertainty, Ceaira is scheduled for thyroid cancer surgery on June 30. Due to the location of the tumor near her airway and vocal cords, this is a significant procedure. While the medical team is hopeful, recovery may include fatigue, discomfort, limited speaking, and follow-up care in the weeks ahead. As many of you know, Ceaira has spent years pouring into her family, military families, and those around her. As the Ombudsman for the USS Alabama, she has been a source of support, encouragement, and connection for countless others during challenging seasons. With her husband currently deployed, this journey brings unique challenges for their family. Now it’s our turn to surround the Spivey Ohana with the same love, encouragement, and practical support she has so freely given to others. We’ve created this page to help coordinate meals, gift cards, and other acts of kindness during her recovery. Whether it’s providing a meal, sending a note of encouragement, offering a gift card, or simply praying for the family, every gesture helps lighten the load. Beginning June 29, Tamaira will be staying with a family friend while Ceaira prepares for surgery and recovery. Professor Al will be helping with transportation to the hospital on surgery day, June 30. Following surgery, Ceaira will be focused on rest, healing, and follow-up care in the days and weeks ahead. Most importantly, we ask for prayers: • For a successful surgery • For protection of her airway and vocal cords • For healing and strength during recovery • For peace and comfort for the entire family • For wisdom and guidance for her medical team Thank you for helping us care for one of our own. This is what ohana looks like. With gratitude, The Cornerstone Family ❤️
