Keep On Keepin’ On: The Angry Liver 2.0 Recovery Tour

Story

Hi and welcome to the Keep On Keepin’ On: Liver 2.0 Recovery Tour 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 I recently had an *expected-yet-unexpected* liver transplant after quietly dealing with a rare liver disease for years. Most people are only just hearing about it now because I kept it pretty low-key. I’m super grateful to be on the other side of surgery now, but recovery has been slower and more complicated than expected. Healing is slowly happening, just not in any way that respects my desire to get life back on track. Right now I still don’t know when I’ll be cleared to return to work and that uncertainty has turned basic expenses into something I’m having to actively figure out. I’m doing this because a small number of people have kindly asked how they can help. I honestly hate asking for support and would not be doing this if I didn’t need to. This feels SO AWKWARD, but here we are. This fundraiser is to help cover essentials for my family while I recover: food, transportation, household costs, and keeping life semi-steady while my body takes its time doing whatever it’s doing. If you’re able to donate, thank you. If not, sharing this or even just thinking kind thoughts genuinely helps more than we can explain. Either way, thank you for being here for the Liver 2.0 Recovery Tour. Definitely not my favorite tour stop, but fortunately I’ve got a good support crew. 💜 Follow along for updates and non-gory pics! (gory pics available upon request)

Special Notes

Just a quick note: I’m still not yet cleared for driving or visitors, and recovery currently includes frequent hospital visits and additional procedures. Because of that, I’m often away from social media and my phone, so if I’m slow to respond, please know it’s nothing personal… probably 🙃 ======================== If anyone would like to help out the old fashioned way by making a meal, offering a ride, sending a card, please reach out for more details. (‘Contact an Organizer’ at the top of the page should work) Life doesn’t always need to be 100% digital, does it?
