As some of you may know Torri has had some on going health issues recently. Last week she had a full body MRI done to hopefully get some answers to those issues. The day after her MRI scan was done her primary doctor called and told her that there was an issue with her spine and she needed to immediately head to the emergency room. She was taken to Genesis East in Davenport and was transported and admitted that night on May 13th to Iowa City where she currently is. The MRI shows an issue with her C2 & C3 vertebra. In between each disc is a “jelly like fluid” which acts as a shock absorber. The MRI showed that this jelly like fluid had all been drained and is now pushing on her spinal cord. At any given moment this could’ve caused permanent paralysis in all extremities or respiratory failure. Luckily, it was caught before then. With that being said, she is now faced with a surgery on Monday May 18th to correct this and hopefully get her on the mend to getting better. After surgery, she will have a 1-2 day stay at the hospital before she is released to come home with restrictions for up to 6-7 weeks. As many of you know, Sean works over the road driving a semi and that comes with a lot of uncertainty as far as when he will get home some nights. With that being said we are arranging a meal train to take some of the stress off of him during this transition.
There are no dietary restrictions but she will be in a neck brace during her time at home so please keep that in mind when choosing a meal. We also ask to refrain from visiting if you have any sickness. ** Also please NO fish.
