Jessica’s Story- This Christmas season, our community is rallying around an incredible person Jessica whose strength and courage continue to inspire everyone who knows her. Just a short time ago, Jessica received the devastating news that she had pancreatic cancer. After careful consideration her medical team recommended surgery to remove the tumor. With her husband by her side, they traveled to Denver for the procedure, holding onto faith, hope and determination. The good news is that the surgeons were able to successfully remove the cancer. But the days that followed have been unexpectedly difficult. Jessica developed serious internal bleeding and spent several days in the ICU, surrounded by medical teams working around the clock. Jessica and Justin were headed back home on Monday December 15th, while they were in Grand Junction, they noticed she was bleeding internally again through her drain. They went to the ER that day and found out her surgeon in Denver wanted her flown back to Denver. When they arrived in Denver, the medical staff decided they needed to go back into surgery to find the bleeding and stop it; which they were successful in doing so! Praise the Lord!! 🙏🏻 After 21 LONG and uncertain days, they were officially home and reunited with their babies! 🥹 With Christmas quickly approaching, everyday life has been put on pause and the focus will be on supporting Jessica through her recovery. We are starting this page to bring a little light into their lives during an unimaginable time. Our goal is to help provide support through various ways for Jessica, Justin and their two kids. (7 year old daughter and 4 year old son) so that while their world feels uncertain, they can still feel the warmth, comfort, and joy this season is meant to bring. If you feel moved to help, your kindness will make a tremendous difference. Whether it’s a meal, grocery pick up, a donation, or simply sharing this page, every gesture helps this family feel the love and support surrounding them.
