We are deeply saddened to share that our bus driver, Mr. Bill, has recently experienced the passing of his wife, Kathryn. He takes such great care of our kids getting them to and from school, we thought it would be nice to help take care of him as he navigates this challenging time. I was able to speak with him while setting up this page and he shared that Kathryn battled for 2 years with cancer. During that time he was the primary caregiver and chef and he is overwhelmed with gratitude that the community would want to help him this way. He also shared that seeing the kids' smiling faces every morning is what keeps him going and they are now his number one priority. He takes his job of keeping the kids safe very seriously and wants us to know he prays for them every morning.
To ease the drop off process, meals will be made and dropped off Wednesday evenings. Please drop the meal off at the LW210 Transportation Center by 4:30pm (1343 S Schoolhouse Rd, New Lenox, IL 60451) So Mr. Bill can bring the meal home after his shift. Mr. Bill doesn't like brussel sprouts, liver, or kale. Otherwise he isn't picky and enjoys all types of food. If you would like to reach out with questions he said it is best to text him at 815-838-3743.
