Hello to my Tribe, Family, and Friends! Summer is on its way out, fall is rolling in, and Surgery #8 is underway! Some of you are already aware, but I wanted to share with everyone the news of my upcoming second total hip replacement surgery, scheduled for November 15, 2024. This comes just 10 months after my left hip replacement in January 2024. After several months of physical therapy, enduring tons of pain and prayer, my physicians and I have decided that since my right hip is on the borderline, it’s best to replace it. This will avoid the arthroscopic procedure, which would involve a much more painful, non-weight-bearing, 10-month recovery—only postponing the inevitable surgery required later in life. The thought of having surgery twice on my hip when I could be done with it in one go was unbearable. Since my last surgery, I have privately endured significant tailbone pain, for which I am currently undergoing physical therapy. Hopefully, this upcoming surgery will also help with that. Although my left hip is not fully healed (they say it takes about a year), I’m pushing ahead because I want 2025 to be as normal as possible—with no more surgeries for a very long time. I’ve had six surgeries within a two-year period. #NoMoreKnives So~~~I'm using this tool again to simplify life. If you're able to assist me during this period, I would greatly appreciate it. My tribe of beautiful friends and church family have been ever so helpful in the past and are ready to support me again. But more than anything, your prayers would be incredibly valuable. Being so independent has been one of the most challenging things to overcome, but life has taught me valuable lessons in humility, vulnerability, and the strength of friendship. Thank you again for being a part of what makes me UNBREAKABLE! I’ll officially be a Bionic Woman! For my privacy, please refrain from sharing this on social media. P.S. To access updates, please sign in. Thank you. With love, laughter, and faith, -Toy
