Gina Morache is my coworker and friend. Saturday her oldest daughter Jordan suffered a stroke ( brain aneurysm). Jordan is in her early 20's. Currently Jordan is at a hospital in Chicago. Gina and her husband Russ are staying at a nearby hotel so they don't have to commute back and forth and can be with Jordan at the hospital. Only one person is allowed to stay per night so they have to take turns staying with her. Usually Gina is working from home and caring for her elderly mother. She also has two other children, one who is still in high-school. She is one of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure to meet and wanted to do something to help her ease some stress during this time. I can't imagine what her and her family are going through right now. Anytime I've had a life tragedy food drop offs have been the most helpful. So my idea was a meal train. Since her youngest and mother are still at home if any local friends and family could drop meals for two if possible. Gift cards for Gina and Russ would be helpful as they are away from home and I'm sure eating out. Maybe even gift cards to local grocery stores would be helpful because eating out is very expensive. I don't have any specific details on Jordan's condition and didn't want to pry as I'm sure having to explain this tragedy is gut wrenching. I believe she is now conscious and showing much improvement ,so that is wonderful news. They do know she will be going into inpatient therapy. She will have a long road so any and all help is appreciated.
