Assistance for Kip & Robbie Jones

Houston, TX

Story

Many of you may have heard that our fellow Cougar, Kip Jones, is currently in the hospital. He has been courageously battling brain tumors and recently underwent surgery to remove one. Doctors are still determining whether the tumor is cancerous, but the procedure has left him facing serious challenges, including swelling on the left side of his brain, seizures, and loss of feeling on the left side of his body. Kip is at Memorial Hermann Southwest (Room 53, 7th Floor, 7600 Beechnut St, Houston, TX 77074), where he is able to receive—and truly welcomes—visitors. His wife, Robbie, who many of you may know from her track days at TSU, is also facing her own health struggles. She has been undergoing chemotherapy due to complications from mold exposure in their former home, which has weakened her immune system. This makes it difficult for her to be at Kip’s side as much as she’d like. Robbie is exhausted, overwhelmed, and in need of both our prayers and our help. I had the chance to meet with her yesterday and bring a few meals, but she needs more than just food—she needs the strength of our Cougar family. If you are able to assist, here are some ways to help: Transportation: Uber gift cards Meals: MealTrain, Uber Eats, or DoorDash gift cards Encouragement: Visiting Kip in the hospital, phone calls/texts with Robbie Spiritual Support: Continued prayers for both Kip and Robbie If you cannot personally help but know other Cougars who may be able to, please share this message with them. Thank you in advance for any support you can provide during this very difficult time. Let’s rally around Kip and Robbie as they face this together. With gratitude, Kristen, 2nd Vice President of "H" Association
