Supporting the Thomas Family through Heather’s Cancer treatment

Suwanee, GA

Story

I was diagnosed with stage 4 ALK+ mutation lung cancer in April 2024. I was able to manage the cancer on a targeted therapy. In August 2025 I found out that my cancer was progressing and I had a MET overexpression mutation. I had radiation and I changed medication, but it wasn’t working quickly enough. In November 2025 I started experiencing severe rib pain and breathing issues. After an ER visit and 12 days in the hospital I was treated for pneumonia in the left lung, a pulmonary embolism in the right lung along with a pleural effusion (fluid), and a DVT blood clot in the left arm. I also had a port placed in my chest and started the chemotherapy combo of Carboplatin and Alimta in January 2026. The side effects are awful and the first week is the worst. I would be grateful for any help with groceries, meals or gift cards for Uber Eats.

Special Notes

I would really appreciate any help with groceries and dinner during the first week after chemo. That’s when I feel at my worst and have very little energy to get dinner ready for my family. Visitors need to be limited because my immune system is compromised. For ready to go meals: we like Costco’s meatloaf, chicken tacos, chicken burrito bowl, ravioli lasagna. Our favorite restaurants are Tequila Mama Taqueria, Chipotle, Don Bonachon, Chili's, Mellow Mushroom, Alessio's, Ippolito's, Culver's, Five Guys, Panera, Sunshine Chinese. If you want to send something from a restaurant, text/message me. We also appreciate home-cooked meals to!
