Our Story: Strength, Faith, and the Road to Recovery The Journey to Utah Our family recently moved to Washington, Utah, from Missouri to start a new chapter. As a disabled veteran, Cody has always been a fighter, but the last couple of years have tested our strength in ways we never imagined. Between multiple back surgeries and the challenges of relocating our family of eight, we have been leaning heavily on our faith and each other. The Recent Battle Just as Cody was struggling through the grueling recovery from his third and fourth back surgeries, our lives took an unexpected turn. On January 15th, Cody suffered an ischemic stroke. He was rushed to the ICU at Intermountain Health in St. George, where he remains today. Currently, Cody has lost control of his left side and his bladder. While we are incredibly grateful that he recently received his VA disability, this new medical crisis has created a long and difficult road to recovery. Why We Are Reaching Out We do not have any family near us in Utah to help with the daily needs of our six children or our home. Next week, Cody will hopefully be admitted into neuro-physical therapy to begin the hard work of regaining his mobility. Because I need to be by Cody's side at the hospital and coordinate his care, this situation will temporarily put me out of work or significantly reduce my hours. We are navigating this loss of income alongside the daily needs of our household. We are asking our friends, the veteran community, and our new neighbors for prayers for a full recovery and for any practical support you can provide while we navigate this transition. Thank You Thank you for standing with us. Your prayers and kindness are the fuel that keeps us going as we fight for Cody to come back home to us.
