Andy's Anchors

Murrysville, PA

Story

This isn’t something I ever imagined putting on Facebook, but it’s the best way to update everyone all at once. Saturday night Andy suffered a spinal cord injury as his head hit the bottom of the pool as he dove in. He was life flighted to Prespeterian Hospital. He fractured his C3 and C4 vertebrae. Andy endured a long surgery to remove the broken vertebrae fragments and reconstruct his vertebrae using metal plates and a metal rod. At this point he has no feeling or function below his shoulders. He is on a ventilator to help him breathe. He can answer yes no questions by nodding his head. I even got a few shoulder shrugs for his indifference of opinion. For all the people who have shown an outpouring of love and support, we appreciate it more than you will ever know. Your generosity and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts. I’m a little overwhelmed with everything to say the least, so if I don’t respond, please keep the positive vibes, prayers and thoughts coming our way. We truly need them. I’m asking for people to send videos of well wishes or just fun stories that I can show Andy since he can’t have any visitors other than me. I want him to see all the love and support that is out there for him.
