Life has a way of changing everything in a matter of seconds. Recently, Harmony was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in her breaking both of her legs. Thankfully, no one else was hurt, and for that we are incredibly grateful. The next 6–8 weeks will be a major challenge, as she is currently unable to bear weight on her legs and will be navigating a very different version of daily life for a while. But in the middle of all of this hardship, something unexpected happened. During her hospitalization, doctors discovered an early-stage lung cancer. As frightening as those words are, the overwhelming feeling she keeps coming back to is gratitude. Had this accident not happened, there’s a very real chance the cancer would have gone undetected much longer. Instead, we found it early — when action can be taken and hope is very much alive. She could choose to focus only on the pain, the fear, and the frustration… but she is choosing to see this differently. What initially felt like pure tragedy may very well have saved her life. So while this season ahead will undoubtedly be difficult, she is walking into it with perspective, faith, and a whole new appreciation for the fragility and gift of life. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, offered support, prayers, and kindness. It means more than I can put into words. ❤️
