Short story: Logan is currently on the liver transplant waitlist. This page has been created to give him and his family some additional support during this difficult time. Long story: On Mother’s Day weekend 2024, Alyssa, Logan’s wife, noticed yellowing in his skin and eyes. Logan visited his PCP who then sent him to the ER in Tyler. Logan was admitted to the hospital. During his week long stay at the hospital, he underwent extensive testing, including a liver biopsy and ERCP. It was discovered that Logan was in end-stage liver failure due to an undetermined chronic liver condition. The incredible doctors at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances informed them that they felt that a liver transplant was the best option for his state. Logan was referred to the Liver & Kidney Clinic at UT Southwestern in Dallas. In mid-June, the doctor at UTSW confirmed that a transplant was the only option moving forward for Logan. Logan has since undergone weeks of extensive testing to become eligible for a liver transplant. He and his family are elated to say that he was approved and placed on the transplant waitlist July 31st.
