Things that would help so much: food prep and meals (that work with Emily’s allergies and celiac disease. We will post details on food below.) Emily currently is living with her jaw locked closed 80% of the time so soft foods especially soups are where it’s at! We could also use help with things around the house (laundry, plant watering, dishes, clean up, turtle baths 🐢💖, words of affirmation 🤣, etc) maybe some small errands. Story: We’re 6 weeks into postpartum and Milo is a gem! Unfortunately, it’s been a very bumpy transition with us being displaced and moving several times due to a 7 day power outage and a couple of very stressful fires in our neighborhood. Once we finally moved back home Mike got an injury and then was violently ill from food poisoning…he is okay now…and somewhere in there Milo developed colic and then our well ran out of water (getting it fixed🤞) The stress of all the random hard occurrences plus Emily’s health struggles in this tender postpartum time have really thrown us off in a giant way and we’re finding that we need some back up while we’re trying to get back into a good rhythm and heal up. Emily has had chronic pain for 10 years and is now physically and mentally recovering from birth, a super challenging pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum, years of infertility struggles including many miscarriages, and IVF-all at one time. It is all catching up with her physically, it seems, and a lot of the many usual things she does to get through chronic pain just are not working. Emily’s health problems are making it hard for her to take care of herself, the baby, and all the little life things. We didn’t anticipate her having the worst pain flare up of her life post- birth but we are doing our best with the circumstances, trying to keep our minds open, and asking for back up! This has been a fucking doozy but we’re incredibly grateful to be on this side of the miscarriage struggle and we’re incredibly grateful for any and all help offered and also all the kindness we’ve already received throughout pregnancy and life. Thank you for being here!
If you do decide to bring some food by, you’re a brave and heroic soldier and we thank you 🙏🏼 Emily’s allergies: Gluten (celiac disease) Dairy And intolerances: Grains (with the exception of quinoa- quinoa is okay👍) Soy We know this is a lot of no-nos and potentially annoying to work with…the best way around it is with simple meat and veggies dishes (chicken/ veggie soup has been the very best these days!) Ps some people think that eggs are dairy but eggs are not dairy and we can eat them! 😍🍳✅ Please check all sauces for gluten cuz it’s sneaky! Thank you times a million.
