Story

Help Darlene Recover After Life-Saving Emergency Surgery If you’ve ever met Darlene, you know she’s the type of person who is always taking care of everyone else. She works tirelessly, rarely asks for help, and has always done everything she can to provide for herself. Just days before she was supposed to celebrate a huge milestone—graduating from her phlebotomy program—her life changed in an instant. Darlene was rushed into emergency surgery after doctors discovered that a portion of her small intestine had lost its blood supply and died. Surgeons had to remove the damaged section to save her life. Her recovery will be long. Her doctors have placed her on bed rest for approximately eight weeks, making it impossible for her to work. The heartbreaking part is that Darlene doesn’t just have one job—she works three jobs to make ends meet. Overnight, her income disappeared while her rent, utilities, medical bills, groceries, and everyday expenses continue. Without help, she is at risk of losing her housing during a time when she should be focused solely on healing. Anyone who knows Darlene knows she is one of the hardest-working, kindest, and most selfless people you’ll ever meet. She would never ask for help herself, which is why we’re asking on her behalf. Your donation—no matter the amount—will help cover: Rent and utilities while she is unable to work Groceries and basic living expenses Medical and recovery-related costs Transportation to follow-up appointments The financial gap created by eight weeks without income If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, church, or community would mean the world to us. Thank you for helping give Darlene the opportunity to recover without the overwhelming fear of losing everything she has worked so hard for. Every prayer, every share, and every donation makes a difference. With sincere gratitude, Family & Friends of Darlene
