Our daughter will be home from school for a while, and her care needs have increased quite a bit. She now requires a full two-person lift for transfers, and most of her daily cares also need two people. Because of this, her aftercare routine takes a lot more time and constant hands-on support. Her surgery consisted of : 1)Open Reduction..repositioning the hip into the joint. 2)Femoral Osteotomy..cutting and realigning the thigh bone 3)Acetabular Osteotomy...reshaping the hip socket 4)Hamstring Lenthening/Abdductor release...cutting or lengthening tight muscles/tendons to improve positioning and reduce contractures. 5)Casting for at 2 weeks or longer..to keep the hip stable while healing. anywhere from 6-12 weeks. This was a huge surgery..with this babies special needs it is even more intense as she does not understand why she is having this pain. With the extra physical care and schedule changes, our days are fuller than ever, and having meals provided would make a huge difference for our family. It helps us stay focused on giving her the support she needs while still keeping our home running. Please consider signing up for a meal or gift cord for this very special family. I am Dylan's mother and live in Florida and Heidi's mother lives in Indiana. Thank you so much for showing up for us — every meal truly takes a weight off our shoulders. We’re very grateful for this community.
