Friends and family, We wanted to share a quick update with you all as I (Nicole) prepare for surgery to remove a large uterine fibroid (14.2 cm). This has been impacting me longer than I realized, and I’m really grateful to be moving toward healing. At the same time, it also means I’ll be stepping into a season where I’ll need to slow down and won't be able to do as much as i usually do. My recovery is expected to be about 4–6 weeks, with the first couple of weeks being the most limited. During that time, I won’t be able to lift, bend, clean, or do much of my normal day-to-day routine. Healing is going to be my full-time job for a while, and I’ll need to really rest and take things one day at a time. That means a lot of normal life will be on pause—and that’s where our community comes in. What We’ll Need Help With: My husband, Bryce, is going to be amazing through all of this, but he’ll also be carrying a lot more than usual. Any help that can lighten his load at home would mean so much—things like: - Light cleaning around the house - Laundry - Helping keep things generally moving in the right direction Honestly, anything that helps him breathe a little easier during this season is a gift as he will still be working for a good portion of my recovery since he is not a salaried employee, we will need his income during this time. Meals (Huge Help!) This will probably be one of the biggest needs for us. Having meals taken care of—whether that’s drop-offs, gift cards, or easy grab-and-go options—will take a huge weight off our shoulders while we focus on recovery. Our Dogs If you know us, you know Peaches and Winston are part of the family (and very convinced they run the house). They’ll need some extra love too: - Morning potty breaks - Feeding - Short walks or outside time at our apartment complex dog park Financial Support With me stepping away from work and normal activity for several weeks, there will also be some financial pressure during this time. Help toward: - Medical and recovery costs - Lost income during healing - Household needs and services while I recover - Dog care support More than anything, we just feel incredibly thankful. For prayers, texts, meals, dog help, encouragement, and financial support—every bit of it means more than we can say. We really believe God carries us through seasons like this often through community, and we are grateful to get to experience that in this season. Thank you for loving us well, for showing up for Bryce, and for helping care for Peaches and Winston while I recover. We’re so grateful for you. XO, Bryce + Nicole
