Amanda is the kind of person who brings light and laughter wherever she goes. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Amanda married her high school sweetheart, Bill, and together they built a beautiful family with their three children—Billy, Samantha, and Alex. Amanda is a loving wife, a wonderful friend, and the biggest cheerleader her kids could ask for. She is known for her caring heart, generosity, the best belly laughs around. In 2020, Amanda’s life changed in ways no family ever expects. She suffered a brain aneurysm and was also diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her lung. The years that followed brought multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and a long road of recovery. Through every challenge, Amanda showed incredible strength and resilience. To this day, she continues to navigate lasting effects on the left side of her body. Recently, Amanda and her family faced another unexpected diagnosis. What was thought to be pressure behind her eye was discovered to be a cancerous tumor. After further testing, Amanda received the diagnosis of breast cancer. Amanda is understandably nervous about the road ahead, but she has already proven what a fighter she is. She has faced unimaginable challenges with courage, determination, and the unwavering support of her family and friends. As Amanda begins this next chapter of treatment, we want to surround her and her family with a community of support.
