Story

My name is Gary Sturman and I just turned 74 yrs old. I was married to my late wife my beloved Sharon for 42 years. Sharon was sick about 20 of the 42 years of our marriage. We were in and out of the emergency room and or hospital constantly. Sharon had COPD, a horrible progressive lung disease. As time went by her disease got to the point that she could not be left alone so I quit working so that I could stay home and become her caregiver. Almost weekly and then she became daily changes in her health and behavior became horrified obvious I would see her what looked like texting on her phone and I would ask who she was texting and I would take her phone and there was no one there except what she saw in her mind the oxygen going to her brain was slowly diminishing it finally got to the point that she fell into a coma prior to that I would bathe her wash her hair clean her after going to the restroom everything I did that in my estimation a lot of people could not have done it was a most terrible thing to witness that I did it because I loved her dearly in our wedding vow I took very seriously to love her till the end after she passed away reality of our financial situation started to set in with the loss of income for my having to quit working I went through our savings account credit cards every asset we had long story short I ended up losing everything including my vehicle and my credit was destroyed I would not go back in time and change anything I'm proud of what I did and I would not trade that for nothing I took care of her and promised her I would and was with her until her last breath after her passing to complicate matters I had heart failure and had to have open heart surgery which only added to all the medical bills we had accumulated over 20 years my current copay even after Medicare paid their part is well over half of a million dollars I have been homeless on three separate occasions that I'm just about to be evicted again because I cannot pay my rent I have never asked for anything for anybody my entire life until now but I'm asking for help because of my age and my health condition I cannot survive homeless thank you in advance for those of you who will read my story and consider any donations I do not drink I do not smoke I don't do drugs any donations will go 100% towards paying my debt and establishing a permanent residence thank you and God bless
