Our Story ❤️ My name is Lu-Anne, and I’m a mother doing everything I can to provide a safe and stable home for my young son. Over the past couple of years, our lives have been filled with challenges that I never expected to face. We experienced an apartment fire that forced my son and me out of our home and into temporary housing. After that, we dealt with ongoing housing problems, unexpected expenses, and the loss of work opportunities that made it extremely difficult to get back on our feet. Despite everything, I have continued working and doing everything I can to take care of my son. I am also working toward building a better career and a more stable future for our family. I don’t want my son to have to experience the uncertainty and stress that we’ve been through. Right now, we are facing another difficult financial situation. We are behind on our rent, and I’m working hard to catch up. I’ve been making payments whenever I can, but with the cost of housing, utilities, childcare and everyday necessities, it’s been extremely difficult to get completely caught up. I am not someone who likes asking for help. As a mother, I am used to figuring things out and doing whatever I can on my own. But right now, I am asking for a little help so that my son and I can remain safely housed and have the opportunity to get back to a place of stability. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. If you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing our story would also help tremendously.
