Supporting Our Family While Fran Is Hospitalized The last couple of months have changed things for our family very quickly. Mom has been unable to work for nearly two months because of increasingly serious health problems, and she is now hospitalized while doctors work to determine exactly what is happening. She has been experiencing persistent high fevers, significant weight loss and other concerning symptoms. Testing has found enlarged lymph nodes throughout her body, and doctors have told us they are concerned about the possibility of lymphoma or another underlying malignancy. She has undergone a lymph node biopsy, and we are still waiting for answers about exactly what we’re dealing with and what comes next. In the meantime, our household unexpectedly went from two incomes to one. We’ve been doing everything we can to keep up, but the bills haven’t stopped while we’ve been waiting for answers. Between our regular household expenses, Mom’s bills, car payments and insurance, groceries, the kids and their school expenses, and recently losing assistance we relied on, we’ve started falling behind. We aren’t comfortable creating a large public fundraiser, so we made this private page for friends and family who have asked how they can help. There is absolutely no expectation to give. A meal, groceries, a gift card, financial help, or even quietly sharing this page with someone who knows us would mean more than we can explain. Right now, we’re just trying to keep everything at home afloat while Mom focuses on getting through this and we wait to learn what we’re facing.
