Our family is experiencing an unimaginable loss, and we are asking our friends, family, and community to surround Melissa, Eric, and their baby girl with love and support during the days ahead. Baby Eric was born with Hirschsprung’s disease, a condition that affects the bowels. He underwent surgery in hopes of helping him heal and move forward. Unfortunately, following surgery, he developed a severe infection related to his bowels. Despite every effort to save him, his little body could not overcome the complications, and on September 29, 2026, sweet Baby Eric passed away. There truly are no words for the heartbreak of losing a child. Right now, we want Melissa and Eric to have the time and space they need to grieve, be together, and care for their baby girl without having to worry about meals and everyday responsibilities. We created this page for anyone who would like to help lighten their load by providing a meal, sending food or groceries, or offering support in any way. Any and all food is greatly appreciated—whether it’s a home-cooked meal, takeout, gift cards, groceries, snacks, or something quick and easy. Meals can simply be left at the front door. There is no need to knock or wait for someone to answer. Giving them privacy and time together while still reminding them that they are surrounded by so much love means more than we can express.
