Fighting an awful battle is hard enough, let alone trying to feed and support your family. If everyone can come together and help provide either home-cooked meals, have something delivered, offer assistance in mowing the lawn and keeping up with house duties, or even sending a few bucks to help with gas and parking. Everything we can do will be helpful and very much appreciated as well as our prayers.-Maria It started with a saddle pulmonary embolism and a doctor who thought Todd had a clotting disorder in early May. A month later, and on Eliquis, Todd had a stroke. Thankfully, there was no major damage and he did not need therapy. Another change in blood thinners all while I pleaded with our local healthcare system to test for cancer, and I was told there was no need. Two months later, Todd had massive blood clots in his legs. One was so significant on his femoral artery that it required a thrombectomy. That was when the CT of the abdomen was performed revealing a pancreatic cancer mass. I argued to get a biopsy in patient because he was on blood thinners, and they wouldn’t. So I had the hospital stabilize him and discharge him, then I took him to Rush. Rush admitted him via the ED, performed the biopsy the next day, and started treatment the next week. August 5th was the day we started this journey. I’m still working to maintain our health insurance, but between being his full time advocate, working, and managing a household on a ton of stress and little sleep; any help you can provide us would be amazing. Todd dedicated 40 summers hosting a community car show that gave to local charities and created a scholarship; longer than the 20 years we’ve been together. He continued serving by being elected trustee in 2023. It’d be so amazing to see the community he loves so dearly, show him some love right back.💜 -Andrea
