Garza Family

Story

Hello, friends and family. We are organizing a meal train for the Garza family to help them during this challenging time. Their mom, Maria, has recently returned home and is undergoing dialysis, while Ray is recovering from surgery. They are in need of prepared meals, groceries, and rides to and from treatment to help ease the burden while they both focus on their recovery. For those who prefer not to cook, gift cards for groceries or meal delivery services are also a huge help! Please review the dietary guidelines before signing up. Thank you for your support!

Special Notes

They need to adhere to a strict renal diet, which means all meals must be: Low in sodium (no added salt). Please use herbs and spices for flavoring. Low in potassium. Common high-potassium foods to avoid include tomatoes, potatoes, bananas, and oranges. Low in phosphorus. High-phosphorus foods to avoid include most dairy products, nuts, and beans. Please avoid all salt substitutes, as these are often high in potassium.
