Christine's Recovery

Galloway, NJ

W
Story

What was supposed to be a routine laparoscopic hysterectomy turned into a life-threatening emergency. During surgery, unexpected complications arose, and the medical team had to fight to save her life—twice. Instead of the minimally invasive procedure that had been planned, surgeons were forced to perform an emergency open surgery, leaving her with her original laproscopic incisions as well as a large incision and a much longer recovery ahead. As she begins the difficult road to healing, her husband has returned to work while balancing the needs of their family, including their young son and teenage daughter. Their focus right now is simply getting through each day and allowing her the time and rest she needs to recover. One of the greatest ways we can support them is by providing a meal. A meal train means one less thing to plan, shop for, cook, or clean up after during an incredibly overwhelming time. Whether it's a home-cooked dinner, takeout, or a restaurant gift card, every meal is a reminder that they are surrounded by people who care. If you're able to help, thank you for showing this family a little extra love as they navigate this unexpected journey. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
