Starla’s Journey to Healing

W
Story

Starla is an incredible daughter, sister, and friend who has always had a heart for people. She loves Jesus deeply and has a passion for being a light to those around her, especially those who feel lost, hurting, or without hope. She has spent her life pouring into others, encouraging them, and reminding them of the hope we have in Jesus. For the past several years, Starla has been on a journey to find answers regarding her health. She has pursued different avenues of treatment and continued to trust God through each step, even when there were more questions than answers. On August 15th, Starla was admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe pelvic pain. After several tests, scans, and lab work, she was diagnosed with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus, which can cause significant pain, inflammation, and other complications. In Starla’s case, doctors discovered that the endometriosis has spread beyond her uterus and is affecting surrounding organs and areas of her intestines. Because of the severity and extent of the disease, Starla is now facing additional treatment and a longer road towards healing. This page was created to give the people who love Starla an opportunity to walk alongside her during this season. The most helpful support right now includes prayer, encouragement, and practical help with everyday needs. Gift cards for places like Panera, Olive Garden, or Walmart are especially helpful as Starla navigates appointments, treatment, recovery, and the challenges that come with this season. Most importantly, we ask that you continue to pray for Starla—for healing, strength, peace, wisdom for her doctors, and for God’s presence to be evident throughout every step of this journey. Thank you for loving Starla, praying for her, and standing beside her. Every prayer, message, meal, and act of kindness means more than you know.

Special Notes

As Starla navigates this season of healing, treatment, and recovery, she is asking for some quiet and personal space. At this time, she is not open to in-person visitors as she focuses on caring for herself and taking things one day at a time. While she may not have the capacity for visitors right now, she would still love to stay connected and feel surrounded by her community. Text messages, encouraging words, prayers, and check-ins are a meaningful way to support her during this season. Please don’t feel like you need to have the perfect words, knowing that people are thinking of her and walking alongside her means so much. Thank you for understanding and honoring this space while continuing to love and support Starla from a distance.
