Showing Love for Rob Mullins

Florence, KY

Story

This site is meant to help Rob's family, and friends extend support, aid, and much love as he is about to undergo bone marrow transplant. This is Rob's second bout with cancer. In 2020 Rob was first diagnosed with cancer, he underwent chemotherapy and has been in remission, In April of this year, unfortunately Rob began having symptoms and a Pet scan showed he again had cancer and it was stage 4. This summer he has undergone extensive chemo. His medical team believes that the bone marrow transplant will give him the best chance of preventing the cancer returning. This will be an intense treatment requiring him to stay in the hospital for 3-4 weeks. His family has had some very challenging circumstances during this past year. Rob's mother was ill and in the hospital for over a year. Rob and Donna were tireless in their support and visited her every day. His mother passed away in February. Donna (Rob's wife) lost her job in April and is currently job searching which is an added stressor on the family. However they are grateful that this has allowed Donna to be able to be with Rob through all his treatments thus far. The next few months are going to be particularly difficult and is why this request has been generated. There are many ways that you can help. This site can be used to send prayers and well wishes; offer meals, volunteer for dog sitting, gift cards or a monetary donation. Rob is a fiercely private and personal individual. He himself would never ask for help. We just know this is going to be a tough time and many people just don't know how to help. Unfortunely due to the treatment he in undergoing he must limit the number of visitors that he can have. You can help by sending prayers, texts, and looking through the wish list of needs on this site that Donna has put together. Any participation no matter how small is greatly appreciated.

Special Notes

Rob has always been a very health conscience individual, exercising regularly and eating as healthy as possible. That is part of why this journey has been so difficult for him. If you are wanting to bring Rob food please be aware he is not eating sugar and he does not prefer fast food. That being said, Donna is going to try to be with him as much as possible while maintaining a home, managing their pets and trying to find a job. She is a little less challenging food wise and may benefit from some meals or fast food gift cards.
