Story

Hello, my name is Maria: I am Darren Shavinski’s spouse. He has stage 4 cancer and is in palliative care. I started this page because the next few months are going to be especially busy. From February 27th until at least March 16th. There are going to be daily appointments for radiation for 15 days and chemo every 21 days for 6 cycles. We have to travel a ways and Darren may not be feeling well during this time so a meal train would be beneficial during this time I have had a lot of people ask if they can bring food so this is just an organized way of doing it. Let’s rally around Darren to show some support, a meal train would be so helpful during this time. Thank you to each and every one of you for your support & prayers. I have no idea how to get rid of the weekends on here but please don’t worry about the weekends. Posting cuz a couple of people asked: These would be the best days to sign up for the meal train. Once I have more time I will try to figure out how to fix the calendar 🤦🏽‍♀️ Next week double/triple apts: 3/6 Monday: Detroit VA apt & radiation apt mount clems 3/7Tuesday: Baxter surgery new Baltimore then head to radiation apt in Mount Clemens then pick up Baxter on way home. 3/8 Wednesday: Hemotology oncologist apt, Dietician apt & radiation apt 3/9 Thursday: Apt in Southfield for Darren and radiation apt after 3/14 Tuesday Apt in Southfield for Darren & radiation apt in Mount Clemens 3/20 chemo 3/28 Tuesday Darren apt in Teledo and possibly radiation apt 4/10 chemo

Special Notes

No spicy foods…If you have any doubts call first. Evenings around 5-6 pm for drop offs would work. There is a table on the porch you can set the food in. It would be easier if all containers were disposable so we don’t have to figure out what belongs to who and honestly we are so busy we will probably forget.
