Hi everyone, We wanted to share a quick update on where things stand today. First, the good news: Cathy recently heard from her oncology team that her chemotherapy is working! Seeing those results was a huge boost for for her. However, Cathy had a bit of an unexpected turn and was admitted to the hospital last night. It's been a long night and day for both of them. She has been dealing with a hernia for a while, and it began causing her significant pain. She is currently in the hospital and had laparoscopic surgery. The doctors did get a clear look at what is happening and hope it provides Cathy some relief. She is limited in her option with her cancer diagnosis as they don't want to cut her or place foreign objects into her body. We are hopeful that this minimally invasive approach will get her the answers she needs quickly so she can get back to her recovery and her treatment plan. Paul just called me and Cathy is out of surgery and resting at this time, her sister Connie is on her way down as well. Please keep Cathy, Paul and their family in your prayers during this difficult time. Please keep Cathy in your thoughts today, specifically for the surgeons’ wisdom and for her pain to subside. With Cathy in the hospital and Paul by her side, we are coordinating help for meals and groceries to ease the burden during this time. Please check the "Ways to Help" section for the Givekind link. I will send updates when I get more information.
