Sometimes the best way we can support someone during a crisis is to simply take one thing off their plate—literally. On Monday August 17, 2026, Mariah James was working her food truck when her husband Sugar Ray suddenly collapsed on the street. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital and then flown by Flight for Life for an aortic aneurysm. He remains in critical care. Right now, Mariah is trying to balance trips to the hospital while also caring for their four children at home. I started this food train because, in a moment when her family is facing so much uncertainty, the simple task of figuring out dinner shouldn't have to be another thing weighing on her. If we can come together as a community and provide dinners for Mariah and her kids, even just a few nights at a time, we can lighten her load and give her one less thing to worry about while she focuses on her family. If you’re able to sign up for a meal, please do. And if you can’t, sharing this is just as meaningful. Sometimes showing up doesn't mean having the right words. Sometimes it just means making sure someone doesn't have to wonder what's for dinner. Kaleidoscipe Reimagined is also taking monetary donations at this time.
