Hi friends, I have created this page for help and visits during my top surgery recovery. This will serve as a meal train, help with Luna (kitty care), dressing changes, rides for errands and doctor appointments, some light cleaning, any other assistance I may need until I can use my arms again, and generally just whatever company and support you are able to provide. I will have this up through October while I am out of work, but may make adjustments depending on how recover is going. Thank you in advance for your support!! Mac
Food restrictions include: vegan (no dairy, eggs, butter, cheese, milk, etc) and for recovery the doc said to focus on high protein and fiber (tofu, tempeh, lentils, beans, TVP, quinoa, veggies, pasta, rice) . Please no spicy food, otherwise as long as it is vegan I don't have any other allergies or restrictions. In general I like: pasta dishes, I use Barilla Plus for extra protein, with cashew cream, silken tofu, hummus, or red sauces. curry with lentils/beans/tofu. Soups, chili, stew (hopefully it will be cool enough), stir fry's, Shepherd's pie, pot pie, beans and rice, and grain bowls with quinoa base. If vegan food is outside your wheelhouse, I do have a few fave restaurants. In Durham- Pure Soul, Thaiangle (their vegan Pad Thai is so good), Heavenly Buffaloes, Neomonde, Parts and Labor, Nuvo Taco. Raleigh-The Fiction Kitchen, Pure Vegan Cafe, Element Gastropub. And I recently found a new pizza place in Morrisville called Pizza Twist.
