On January 22nd I got a message from Krista. She is about to face a hard road and I believe she deserves help from community. She has been through so much including being a DV survivor, losing her brother & mom, losing her son to being poisoned with fentanyl a couple of years ago. Yet her heart is still HUGE and she is such a positive person. Her message said this: I had a biopsy last week and I got my test results this morning, she wants to do an mri of my brain to check these weird headaches i have been having and mri my belly and a few other tests.....I have low grade serous carcinoma 😢 it is a rare ovarian cancer deep inside in my abdominal wall. I also have 2 hernias, colitis, and diverticulitis 😥They will do surgery to remove as much as possible then I will have to do chemotherapy, and I will loose my hair 😭 She posted this on her birthday 2/5: I wanted to let you guys know some big news...i didnt know when i did it but I did cut my hair for a reason 🥺 i have been diagnosed with low grade serous carcinoma a rare ovarian cancer that stems from the cancer i had before. Although it is more aggressive than before it is the least aggressive type of ovarian cancers. There will be surgery in a few weeks then chemotherapy to follow. 45 sure sure is going to be a wild ride. But I am so incredibly blessed with the love of God and all my friends and family 🥰 my Faith cannot be broken. Today she updated us to let us know whats happening and this is it, its time to start this process and her fight: 02/23-They just called and moved my surgery to the 10th, they couldn't get the schedules to line up for the Imaging room and the operating room, they have to go in and put a guide wire in before the surgery so she doesn't have to dig thru everything to find the tumor. I think that it would be amazing to try to help them get through this with a little more ease so I set up this page. You can sign up for a day to cover dinner and you have choices like dropping off, gift card, door dash, walmart delivery or you can purchase a prepaid visa gift card. Her Venmo is attached as well because we all know that there is so many costs that are going to come with this process. She found insurance, thank goodness but its a lot and there are still co-pays and travel expenses and being out of work so I added her Venmo as an option in case you wanted to send her something she could use on the other expenses. I got her permission to do this and I am hoping that people that I know whether they know her or not will help even if its just sharing so that maybe someone that can help will see it. Thank you all in advance from everyone who knows and loves Krista. Gods in control. Please share. 💜
Krista has had some high blood pressure episodes so just keep that in mind if you are making home cooked meals. They are working to get that under control. There are 4 people on the household, I would probably just make or send enough for at least 4 adults per meal as Scott is a growing young man that plays sports.
