On Saturday December 6th, our dear friend Savannah was life-flighted from a car wreck in Liberty, TX down the street to HCA Kingwood Emergency Hospital where she currently is staying while healing from a double-compound broken wrist and a fracture on either side of her spine near her pelvis. While Sav is expected to make a full recovery with surgery, patience, and therapy - she can still expect a long road ahead of her that may impact her capacity to earn a sustainable income. Her company does provide temporary extended medical leave, but there are risks and concerns that she may not be able to return to the original demand. Her job requires ladder climbing and physical strength that it will take time for her to reclaim. She will be seeking out compromisable solutions with her employers as opportunity allows. This page serves to help Savannah find relief and feel less alone during this time. You will find that you can connect directly to Sav's CashApp to send donations; with a risk of job-loss on the rise for disabled Americans, this will always be an incredibly helpful option if no other forms of support are accessible for you. While she is in the hospital: we can coordinate visits, stay in touch, bring her treats and stimulatory activities, and we can run errands that she would otherwise have scheduled to do in her free time (vet visits and car stuff, you know?) When she returns home: she has already expressed concern for the accessibility of her furniture; setting her up for success with a clean home and providing aids that may help her get in the shower or on her bed would be huge. As she recovers: grocery runs and meal deliveries, regular visits, and continued assistance with errands are going to be in her best interest.
Visitation hours for the hospital are 7am-9pm Sav is dairy-free and allergic to grapes! She likes the smell of strawberries and pina coladas. For now, there is not a wishlist with material items that have been requested. We are going day-by-day until we know how long she is expected to be hospital-bound, then bed-bound, etc. Please consider the best gift you can give right now being the gift of your company, via visitation or even just a phone call.
