Supporting Jared Williams & Family Through His Cancer Journey

Denver, CO

Story

Jared was officially diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma a couple of weeks ago and finally was able to discuss his treatment plan on July 7th. He will officially be starting chemotherapy at the end of July. This is going to be a long and difficult journey for not only Jared but also for his wife Keilani and son Malakai. Along with the known financial hardship, they will be going through a lot of physical, emotional and mental challenges as Jared goes through chemotherapy. We want to show our support in anyway possible and make this journey easier for them if at all possible. Along with our meal train requests, we have created an Amazon wishlist with some items that will help Jared be more comfortable during his treatments. The GoFundMe was specifically created for those who want to help but may only be able to do so hands off. While GoFundMe is a great platform, we encourage anyone to donate to his Venmo account directly since GoFundMe takes out a significant fee. Any support is much appreciated along with prayers and positive thoughts for the family. From Jared: The last 8-9 months I started developing “cyst” like bumps in my neck and they started attacking my immune system. Every 2 weeks I seem to just be absolutely dying of being sick. The worst sweating you’ve ever seen, several days with no food, sleeping for 24 hours at a time, it felt like my body was slowly giving out on me. Got some bloodwork and an ultrasound done about 3-4 months ago and they told me I’m fighting an infection and gave me some antibiotics and said I’d be fine! Fast forward to these last 3 months and it’s the worst it’s ever been. I finally had enough and took myself to the emergency room on Monday morning. After hours of testing and ct scans, they admitted me to the hospital fearing I’ve got Lymphoma. Got a biopsy on the biggest lump in my right clavicle yesterday around 1pm. I’ve got about a week until I receive official results but the cancer nurse we spoke to said i literally check all the boxes. She called it “the Hallmark card of lymphoma”

Special Notes

Jared feels like he would be able to stomach the following types of food during chemotherapy: - uncrustables - jello - oatmeal - Gatorade - orange juice - eggs - toast - cereal - protein shakes Chemotherapy takes a significant physical and emotional toll, and because of this, we kindly ask that no one visit Jared without checking in first. Please coordinate any visits through his wife, Keilani. We also ask for your understanding and flexibility, as plans may need to change depending on how Jared is feeling that day. We all want to show our love and support for Jared at this time, and want to be sure we are doing so with love and patience.
