Aloha Friends, Ironically as Hurricane Lala is swirling around the islands the Wyatts had the winds of their own devastating storm pick up again. A few days ago Kai boy had to be taken to the ER due to a high fever that had continued fluctuating through out the night. He was then medivaced out of Maui to Oahu. Once on Oahu they immediately took him to the trauma unit, as he was coming in and out of consciousness and they couldn’t pin point why. Finally they stabilized him and realized that the medicine received in Maui’s ER, had broken up the bad bacteria in his body and that process actually sent his little body into shock. He was then transferred to the PICU where they are still coming to conclusions about the cause of infection and it’s entry point. Which leads us to this meal train. Hannah is still on Maui with Kaleo and baby Kira. She is here trying to hold down the fort while her husband and baby are miles and miles away from her. They both know though that their amazing community is here. Hannah would be even more alone if she packed everything up to try to be on Oahu with them. These decisions , this disease, and these circumstances would be daunting for any one of us. So I know that both Hannah and Josiah would be so blessed to not have to worry about preparing food or worrying about how much money every meal is. Josiah needs gift cards for Uber eats, Grub hub, or DoorDash so meals can be received in the small windows of time he can eat, which vary daily. If we could continue to come alongside of them to weather this very longstanding storm I know they would be forever grateful. Thank you for being here, Maria
If you have been sick, or around others who have been sick, we ask that you do not personally come the house. If any family member gets sick they have to be separated from Kai as his immunity is so low. We also ask that you do not bring food if anyone in the household has been sick. We know these requests can seem so stringent and yet it’s the best for the Wyatt family. On hard days there may be a sign with a designated area to drop off the food. The Wyatts love people and guests and yet are going through such challenging times so we want to allow them that space to navigate what the best on that day includes.
