Hi everyone, When my dear friend Anna and her husband Brad moved from Texas to Oregon last winter, I was elated — finally, they were just a train ride away. Anna was excited to grow the lush green garden she’d dreamed of for years, and together with Brad they were looking forward to their new PNW adventures. But just as roots were beginning to settle, life changed course. On December 30, 2024, Anna received the devastating news: cancer. Since then, she’s faced a radical hysterectomy and a tough round of chemotherapy, with grace, grit, and her signature dry humor. After her third treatment, serious complications landed her in the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit for a week. Anna is still in the thick of it, fighting each day with strength and softness — and since she’s still new to Oregon, we’re rallying to wrap her in comfort and care from afar. Let’s help Anna feel held and supported. Instead of meals, I’m organizing a “comfort train” — small gestures to help her feel cared for during this incredibly tough time. Think: • Gift cards for takeout or delivery • Cash for comfort items • Uplifting notes or surprise packages • Soft natural fiber pajamas or lounging wear, size M Anna’s Venmo: Venmo @anna-bananovna If you prefer another cash app, let me know and I’ll coordinate that too. Thank you for being part of her village. These small comforts truly make a big difference during chemo recovery. With gratitude, Liza Mahler
