Hello, my Name is Katelyn. I am 32 and I am a mom of two beautiful boys diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in Feb of 2023. I did chemo, surgery, and radiation and we were in remission for a few months and doing good however just a few days ago we got the news it has returned and treatment isn’t working. So the next step is pets scans, mri, bone scans, and echo for heart, chemo, and different medication to find a treatment hopefully that will work to keep me here a while longer with my family. A little information about My cancer it is HER2 positive ER/PR- meaning it’s not responsive to Hormone Therapy just anti HER2 drugs. If they become resistant then per medical opinions that’s when I run out of options as far as medicine/chemo is concerned. It is very aggressive and very tricky when coming to outsmarting treatment. My biggest thing now is trying to pay our bills, rent, and medical expenses plus being a type 1 diabetic and insulin costs. I have always worked even in cancer before knowing I had it but I cannot work due to treatment being so severe and my body handling it poorly. The reason I set a goal of $4,500.00 is so we can pay our rent for this and next month if possible, bills and transportation that’s my main concern right now. I know that everyone has their own struggles but we have tried every program and every program is maxed out. Above all we ask your prayers that God will turn this around we know he can and when medical professionals run out of options God does not but if you know of anyone who can donate or programs so we can keep our home and find a vehicle please share that information along.
