Our sweet Oakley is just six years old, and at the end of July she was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). In the blink of an eye, our world shifted from summer fun to hospital stays, procedures, and learning a brand-new language of treatments, counts, and chemo schedules. As you can imagine, the road ahead is long. Treatment for ALL is a marathon that stretches over years, not weeks, and it asks a lot of her little body and of our family. Between clinic visits, hospital stays, chemo treatments, daily medications, and the emotional weight of it all, we’ve been blessed by those who walk alongside us. We started this page because so many of you have asked, “How can we help?” And the truth is, we don’t always know. This past month has been difficult to process and jumping back into daily life feels overwhelming some days. Give InKind allows friends and family near and far to support us in practical ways — whether that’s sending a meal, a gift card, covering groceries, or simply leaving a word of encouragement for Oakley. Every gesture lightens our load and also reminds us we’re not walking this alone. Thank you for loving Oakley, for standing with our family, and for helping us focus our energy on what matters most: keeping her strong, comforted, and surrounded by hope. With gratitude, Chad and Bethany
Oakley is currently neutropenic, which means her immune system is very fragile. To keep her safe, we aren’t having visitors inside the house right now. If you’d like to bless us with something, we’ve set a drop-off box on the steps — alternatively, gift cards are also a huge help. For food, cooked meals are safest for Oakley’s system (no raw sprouts, sushi, deli meats, or unpasteurized items). Optional note: Bethany and Chad are unable to eat gluten, but please don’t feel pressure to accommodate. If possible, please make note if an item is gluten free.
