Karma began experiencing unexpected and severe pain on Wednesday, December 17th, and was admitted to The Berry at 34 weeks. After several days of around-the-clock attempts with different induction methods, it became clear that Maverick just wasn’t quite ready. Given Karma’s high-risk situation, the medical team made the difficult but necessary decision to proceed with a C-section after four days. Unfortunately, Daddy Eric was ill and unable to be in the operating room, but Gigi was able to step in and witness the incredible moment with Karma that Maverick entered the world. Mommy Karma and Baby Maverick did wonderfully—he arrived perfect in every way, weighing 5 lbs 5 oz. Since his birth on Sunday, Maverick has been receiving care in the NICU, with oxygen and feeding support as he grows stronger and learns to do these things on his own. While Karma and Eric were able to go home, they had to leave Maverick behind on Christmas Eve, with hopes that he’ll be able to come home this weekend or early next week. Prayers for Maverick, Karma, and Eric are deeply appreciated during this tender time. If you’re able to help by providing a meal, it would mean more than words can express as they navigate these challenging days. Thank you so much for your love and support.
They love Mexican food, pizza, and more! Less veggie more hearty. 😋
