Hello! My name is Alexandria, or mostly known as Lexie! I am 25, and I am a stay-at-home mom to 2 beautiful children. My partner, Brendan, is in full-time college to become an IT tech next year. He works endless hours of overtime every week to bless our family. I am forever grateful for everything he is doing for our family. We are growing our family in September! My pregnancies are not easy on me as I have never-ending sickness, also known as HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum). I also was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease/ chronic illness called Hyperthyroidism. My pregnancy has been far from easy. We had our routine anatomy scan and received some unexpected news to be seen at an MFM and a pediatric cardiologist. Our baby was diagnosed with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome). Only the right half of our baby's heart formed, and this means they need open-heart surgery. This diagnosis is fatal if left untreated immediately after birth. We know our baby is stronger than the battle at hand and have faith they will make it through this. HLHS has 3 surgeries to help the heart work properly: 2 surgeries within 6 months and 1 more surgery by 2 years of life. With this unexpected news and diagnosis of our beautiful baby, we need help. We live over an hour away from the hospital it is mandatory for me to deliver at. Brendan would be working an hour and a half from the hospital. In order for Brendan to be able to not only be there for our baby, our other two children, and to help me after a C-section during this time, we need help financially. He does not get paid leave; if he does not work, he will not get paid. We would love for our baby to get both of our support after their first open-heart surgery after they are born. Our children, whose world is going to be uprooted from being with mom every day to seeing mom being torn between her babies in both directions, need their dad to help keep them stable and happy while we are out awaiting our baby to heal. We don’t know how long we could be in the hospital; it's a month minimum. Anything helps our family get through this really hard time and makes sure we can stay together as much as possible. Every share, every read, every donation is so greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading our story. I know our baby also thanks you for helping their family through this very difficult time.
