Our family is reaching out to ask for support for my sister, Andrew, and their sweet baby boy during an incredibly difficult season. Their little one has now been in the hospital for almost a month. He has been facing ongoing feeding challenges and severe reflux, and a recent swallow study revealed that part of his esophagus is very narrow, which is likely causing much of his discomfort. The medical team is continuing to run tests and may need to perform a procedure to better evaluate and treat the narrowing. They are also preparing to bring him home on supplemental oxygen when he is healthy enough to be discharged. At this time, there is still no planned discharge date. Throughout this journey, my sister and Andrew have remained by their son's side day and night, rarely leaving the hospital. As you can imagine, the emotional, physical, and financial strain has been overwhelming.
