Standing With Sam

Mayview, MO

Story

After a recent and routine medical procedure, Sam was hospitalized after suddenly vomiting a large amount of blood. She was first taken to Lexington and then transferred to Centerpoint. Although doctors initially believed she might be stable enough for discharge, she began bleeding again and her condition rapidly became critical. She was rushed to the ICU, placed on a ventilator, received four units of blood, and underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. It was a life-threatening emergency, and Sam is incredibly grateful to be alive. She is now out of the hospital and staying with family while she recovers, but she has a long road ahead. During this time, her friends and family are asking for support to help lessen the burden she is facing. Any contribution, prayer, or act of kindness will help ease the financial and emotional strain as she focuses on healing and rebuilding her strength.

Special Notes

Sam has graduated to soft foods such as tacos (made with soft tortillas), mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, soft pasta with mild sauce, oatmeal, yogurt, rice, and shredded chicken, etc. While she still has to be careful and avoid anything crunchy or spicy, this is another small but meaningful step forward in her recovery.
