After 13 days, I am finally home from the hospital! ❤️ The great news: my spinal fusion was a success. The doctors were very concerned because my fracture was extremely unstable, and there was a risk of further damage — including possible paralysis. I am so thankful that the surgery went well and that the first big hurdle is behind me. The not-so-great news: I’ll be wearing a very uncomfortable back brace for the next eight weeks, and my summer plans are definitely looking a little different than I imagined. Recovery will take time, but I’m grateful to be moving forward. I cannot say enough about the amazing support system I have around me. My family and friends have stepped up in ways that mean more than I can express. From the prayers, messages, visits, and help with everything — I feel incredibly blessed.
