Hi! I was first diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma 9 1/2 years ago! After multiple reoccurrences, my scans finally showed NED in January 2026, the same month my blood work came back very wacky. After a bone marrow biopsy it was confirmed I had T-MDS with TP53 mutation with a complex karyotype as a result of the chemo I had 9 years prior. The only curative option is a Bone Marrow Transplant, and with that still comes a lot of risks. My brother has agreed to donate his bone marrow, annd successfully donated over 8 million cells! I was set to begin on June 22 but a simple cold virus derailed my fragile immune system and put me in the hospital for 8 days. Everything was postponed for 2 weeks. On Tuesday, July 7 I was admitted back into the hospital for 4 days of chemo before the transplant on July 14! My new birthday! I began to engraft on July 28 and was able to. leave the hospital on July 31! August 1-3 I went in every day for fluid and any supplements. I was supposed to continue this, but when I saw the doctor on Monday he moved me to twice a week! God is so good! My brothers cells are beginning to take over and I am slowly recovering. I will have to continue to be monitored one a routine basis. Coming up is a bone marrow biopsy and a visit with the MDS doctor who will put me on preventative chemo for the MDS. As much as I will want visitors, fresh flowers or outside food, because of the nature of a bone marrow transplant and the lack of immunity it causes, we have to be super cautious for germs. Because of that, fresh flowers and outside food can bring in germs :-(. visitors will need to be limited and healthy and wear a mask and possibly protective gown when visiting. Todd will be organizing visitors and cooking the food so it meets the standards they require until my immune system recovers.
