Drew Kubica - Join Us in Helping Support his Lifesaving Liver Transplant

Waltham, MA

Story

Last November Drew was on a photography shoot with his friend, Rick Bern, and business partner and dear friend, Danh Nguyen. Both friends had commented on Drew’s appearance and how yellow his skin and eyes were looking. They immediately took intervention and told him he must go to the hospital ASAP. Drew entered the emergency department thinking he would be in and out. Unfortunately, Drew got himself an ambulance ride to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and that’s where he remained for 3 weeks. It was in that 3 weeks where Drew realized his liver was no longer functioning. He was also dealing with a collapsed lung and a broken rib which then lacerated his liver. They said Drew’s liver was too far gone. He needed to be placed on the liver donor list immediately. Since November of 2024 Drew has dealt with numerous emergency hospital visits and stays at Beth Isreal and MGH. He cannot currently work. He has applied for disability, but got denied. He is currently appealing that decision. He also has an incredible business partner, Danh who has literally saved his life. Drew has an extremely long road ahead. It’s going to be physically and mentally draining once he gets his liver transparent. He will need extra help for 6 months or longer. We are now asking for your support! Drew has been so many things to so many different people. He is always there for family and friends and now it’s our turn to support him.
